Who is Dickie Beau?

A textbook homosexical type C (he can’t wolf whistle, nor click his fingers, and he was born bum-first), Dickie Beau is a performance artist and writer based in East London. Much of his work is informed by the central premise that, beyond our letting it all hang out as fully-bearded naturists, we are, each of us, to some extent or other, in drag.

His forthcoming work includes performances at the Camp Bestival and Latitude Festivals in July. He has also been invited to curate and host an evening of performance at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, and is performing as his alter-ego Alma Mater in ‘Kindertotenlieder & the Alma Problem’ as part of the Arcola Theare’s alternative opera festival, Grimebourn - both taking place in early August. Other recent activities include developing new work at Bistrotheque, as well as performances at Royal Vauxhall Tavern, Bar Music Hall, Sketch, The Arts Theatre, Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes, Madame Jojos and others.

Dickie also writes as a columnist for QX magazine.
